Privacy Policy

The short version: your files never leave your device, we don't have accounts, and we use cookie-free analytics. There is very little data here to have a policy about — but here is the full picture.
Your files
Every tool on Every Format runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly. When you convert, inspect or edit an image, the file is read and processed on your own device. It is never uploaded, never stored on a server, and never seen by us or anyone else. The tools keep working if you go offline after the page loads — that is the proof.
This also applies to metadata the tools read from your files, such as camera settings or GPS coordinates: it is parsed and displayed locally and discarded when you close the page.
Analytics
We use Umami, a privacy-first measurement tool we host ourselves. It uses no cookies, no localStorage, and no fingerprinting; it does not track you across sites or build a profile of you, and because we run it, your visit is not handed to an analytics company at all. It gives us aggregate numbers — which pages are visited and which tools get used — and nothing about who you are or what files you process.
Cookies
Every Format sets no cookies today. A few choices — your colour theme, whether you've already rated a tool or answered “Did your files come out right?” today — are remembered in your browser's own storage and never sent to us. If we ever introduce advertising (for example Google AdSense), ad providers would use cookies; we would update this policy first and, where required, ask for your consent through a certified consent management platform.
Map tiles
The photo-location and geotagging tools display maps using OpenStreetMap tiles. Your photo's GPS data is parsed locally, but loading the map itself sends standard web requests (your IP address and the coordinates of the visible map area) to OpenStreetMap's tile servers, governed by the OSM Foundation privacy policy. Tiles load only when you use those tools.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare's content delivery network. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard connection data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can reply and improve the tools. We don't add you to any mailing list.
Feedback
The feedback form (the Feedback button in the header, a failed file's Report this file, the “Did your files come out right?” question, the error page and the contact page) sends us only what you see in it before you press Send:
- what you write, and any of the quick answers you pick;
- your email address, only if you give one — used only to reply to you, never added to any list;
- the page you were on, which button you used, your browser and operating system (name and major version), and the site version (“build”);
- for a file that failed: the error type, the tool, the file's format, size and dimensions, and for RAW files the camera make and model; for an error page, its error ID; for a finished batch, a one-line summary such as “3 of 3 converted · HEIC → JPG”.
It never sends the file itself or its name. “Sent along” in the form lists these details, and Review shows the exact values with a box to untick each one. The report travels from Cloudflare (which runs the form's endpoint) through our own self-hosted email service and Amazon SES to our support inbox, which is hosted by Google (Gmail). We keep it as long as we need to deal with it; email support@everyformat.com at any time to have it deleted.
Changes
If our practices change — for example if we add advertising — we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
